[FR] Chateau a vendre france  –  Le château d’Arcine est un ancien château fort qui se dresse sur la commune de Saint-Pierre-en-Faucigny, en Haute-Savoie, à quelques kilomètres de Genève et 30 mn des premières stations de ski. Il est bâti sur un plateau d’où l’on jouit d’une vue panoramique.
La propriété, d’une superficie de 5ha 42, comprend le château (composé d’une tour carrée de trois étages attachée à un corps de logis d’un étage), un ancien corps de ferme, une forêt (avec un ruisseau qui fait la joie des enfants), ainsi que différentes terrasses et pelouses.

As it is built high above town, it offers an outstanding view on the mountains and the valley.
Covering an area of 5ha 42 (13.4 acres) the property includes the castle (a square three storey tower and its main building), an old barn, some forests with a stream (a real paradise for children), different terraces and lawns.

This property can be used as a primary or secondary family house. There can be some other possible uses, such as private school, company headquarters, conference center, B&B or hotel (it used to be operated as hotel for russians after their revolution). It could also be an equestrian property due to the big land and the barn.

Le château d’Arcine était autrefois connu sous le nom de Rumilly-sous-Cornillon. Il gardait le débouché de la vallée de la Borne et était le siège d’une seigneurie d’environ 20 kilomètres carrés.
La tour, qui est la partie la plus ancienne du château, aurait été construite au 11ème siècle.
Il a été agrandit par les comtes de Genevois au 13ème siècle.
En 1210, il apparaît dans la dot de Béatrice de Genève lors de son mariage avec le comte de Savoie Thomas 1er. Il reste dans la famille pendant de nombreuses années.
En 1530, Pierre de La Forest l’achète à Philippe de Savoie. Le château se transmet alors de père en fils.
En 1733, Victor Amédée de La Forest le vend au général Muffat de Saint-Amour qui prend alors le titre de comte de Rumilly.
En 1807, Jean François Muffat de Saint Amour le vend au marquis de Planchamps de Cluses.
Puis, par héritage, il passe à la famille d’Arcine.
Cyrille d’Ennemond d’Aurémont de Coiffy de Fresne, né en Russie, l’achète en 1909 et le château devient un “foyer d’émigration russe” jusqu’en 1948.
Les propriétaires actuels sont américains et ont acheté le château en 1981.

Years ago, the Château d’Arcine was known as the Château de Rumilly-sous-Cornillon. It has been built to protect the valley and it was the headquarters of a seigneury that was covering around 20 square kilometers. The tower, which is the oldest part of the castle, has been built in the 11th century. It’s been expanded by the Genevans Earls during the 13th century.
In 1210, it is part of Beatrice of Geneva’s dowry when she got married with Earl of Savoie Thomas the 1st. The castle stayed in the family for many years.
In 1530, Pierre de La Forest buy it from Philippe of Savoie. It passes from father to son within the family.
In 1733, Victor Amédée de La Forest sells it to the General Muffat de Saint-Amour who then take on the title of Earl of Rumilly.
In 1807, Jean François Muffat de Saint Amour sells it to the Marquis de Planchamps de Cluses. Then, by inheritance, it goes to the family of Arcine.
Cyrille d’Ennemond d’Aurémont de Coiffy de Fresne, who is born in Russia, buys it in 1909 and, until 1948, all the owners are Russians.
The current owners are an american family that have owned the property since 1981.
